After several years of flirting with the world of finance, I hung my backpack and zoomed in on Australia. My passion for travel was ignited! My desire to see the world led me to Sri Lanka and eventually to Shanti Travel. The many facets of the island and the welcoming smiles of Sri Lankans are perpetual wonders. I share my experiences of this island with unmatched pleasure. The vast natural and cultural wealth of this island will meet the expectations of any traveller. The thought of providing happiness by creating unforgettable trips excites me every day.
Naomi - Sales Manager - Travel Expert Sri Lanka
I grew up in Britain and my passion for the sea gave me an early desire to take off. Naturally I turned to tourism and it was during my second year of BTS that I left for an internship in Sri Lanka. After a stint in Cambodia, I decided to anchor myself back in Sri Lanka where I appreciate the openness emanating from the this cultural melting pot. I joined Shanti Travel with much enthusiasm! Between studying for Sustainable Tourism’ by correspondence and the Sinhalese language, I swim, surf, hike and bike.
My Favourites: the wild and protected Kalpitiya & Galle with its walled city that reminds me St. Malo!

My history in Sri Lanka began in the late 1970s, since I started my apprenticeship in the middle of tourism right here. This obviously was not the last since I contracted the travel virus! From one country to another, I dabbled in different experiences across advertising, the press, politics and culture. Now, this is ’home’. Sri Lanka, my beautiful island is so green that cannot wait to share my passion with the travelers of Shanti Travel.
My favorite: Jaffna in Sri Lanka with its splendid landscapes, women in colorful saris and bicycles.

Manjula - Responsible for Logistics Operations
Born in Colombo, I also lived in England for 4 years to complete my management studies. In 2010, I returned to Sri Lanka with the objective of working in tourism. It is therefore with great pleasure that I accepted to work for the local agency Shanti Travel as an Operations Officer. Travelling is of course a part of my hobbies and I hope to return to Europe very soon. In the meantime, I am perfecting badminton and cricket!
My favorites: I love going off the beaten track and finding myself face to face with wild animals. Thus, the national parks of Sri Lanka have became my playground of choice.
Emil - Responsible for Operations In Charge
Sri Lanka has no secrets from me as I love spending my time exploring the island from one end to the other. That is why I was a national tourist guide. This allowed me to take myself across Sri Lanka. Today, I organize the movement of our travelers and take care of their accommodation. If necessary, I sometimes still put on my guide hat. After living in Switzerland, Italy and Germany for a few years, I began to pace my way through Asia: Thailand, Singapore and India. My last trip to date: New Zealand. To be continued!
My favorite in Sri Lanka: Uda Walawe National Park for camping and hearing elephants trumpeting overnight.
Aaliya - Responsible for Logistics Operations
Youngest in the team, I joined Shanti Travel because I was simply passionate about travel. For me, working in tourism gives me the opportunity to meet people from very different worlds and cultures. I studied accounting and am trained in marketing.

Eranga - Responsible for Logistics Operations
I am from Tangalle, on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. In parallel to my tourism studies, I worked for 3 years in a hotel in Singapore. Then I took a leap and went to England for training in travel agency management. Once I was back in Sri Lanka it seemed like a no-brainer to join the tourism industry. I joined the Shanti Travel team in early 2012. What do I like to do? Eat ice cream, travel and play cricket.
My favorite: my hometown, Tangalle, which remains a quiet town with beautiful beaches.
