Day 1: Colombo – Negombo│ Hello Sri Lanka!

As you touchdown in Sri Lanka you will be welcomed by a wave of heat and Sri Lankan charm. Your driver will meet you at the airport and transfer you to Negombo where you will spend your first night in Sri Lanka. Negombo is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka and depending on your arrival time you may be able to visit the Fort area and the beautiful colonial buildings, the vibrant Pettah Bazaar or the Cinnamon Gardens. The Galle Promenade is popular at sunset. After dinner your driver will take you back to your hotel for the night.

Day 2: Negombo – Sigiriya │ Sunset Views at the Sigiriya Rock Fortress

In the morning you will travel by car with you driver towards central Sri Lanka to the famous Cultural Triangle. After checking in to your hotel in Sigiriya you will visit the fortress of Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Be ready to climb a few flights of stairs to the top but it will be well worth it to enjoy a stunning sunset over the sunken gardens and the surrounding countryside. After dinner in town your driver will escort you back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 3: Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Minneriya – Sigiriya │ Discovering Central Sri Lanka

An early rise this morning to meet your driver after breakfast who will take you Polonnaruwa, stopping at Hbarana tank. In Polonnaruwa you can walk through the city of instead choose to cycle around and explore the royal city. After touring the city you will head to Minneriya National Park for a jeep safari round these untamed lands. This national park is home to herds of elephants, deer and even the endangered leopard, so be sure to keep your eyes open! Return to your hotel in the evening for dinner.

Day 4: Sigiriya – Anuradhapura – Sigiriya│ Exploring The Ancient City of Sri Lanka

After breakfast you will drive to the northern point of the Cultural Triangle towards Anuradhapura, another of Sri Lanka’s World Heritage Sites. You can explore the ancient city by foot or by bicycle, venturing around and discovering Sri Lanka’s history and charm down every path you take. Be sure not to miss the Sri Maha Bodhi and if you think you can manage it, climb the thousand steps to the top of the sacred hill of Mihintale. Return to Sigiriya for dinner before heading to your hotel for the night.

Day 5: Sigiriya – Dambulla – Matale – Kandy │From The Dambulla Caves to Lush Green Kandy

Today you will begin travelling south into the heart of Sri Lanka. En route to Kandy you will stop at the legendary Dambulla Caves where your best companions will be the monkeys – though be sure to not let them snatch your belongings! After visiting the collection of Buddha statues and five caves, head onwards to Matale to visit a beautiful spice garden. From here you will continue your journey to Kandy where you will spend the next couple of nights. Enjoy a Sri Lankan dinner in town before turning in for the night.

Day 6: Kandy │ Colonial Kandy

Kandy is a beautiful city with much to offer, whether you are looking to relax or explore or discover. After breakfast your driver will take you to the famous Temple of Tooth which is a sacred Buddhist temple in the heart of Kandy. From here you will be able to explore Kandy and visit the countless galleries, museums and churches or if you prefer a visit to Pinawela Elephant Orphanage can be arranged or a visit to the beautiful botanical gardens of Paredeniya. Return to your hotel in the evening after dinner.

Day 7: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya│ Authentic Train Travel

After breakfast spend the morning exploring Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese Kingdom. You can stroll around the lake and enjoy the fresh air and misty mountains that surround this beautiful city, or visit the bustling markets. After lunch in Kandy your driver will take you to the local train station for an authentic train journey to Nuwara Eliya. Upon arrival you will be met by your driver who will take you to you hotel in the middle of the tea country where you can enjoy a local dinner and spend the night.

Day 8: Nuwara Eliya – Horton Plains – Nuwara Eliya│ Cruising Around Horton Plains

Spend a leisurely morning at your hotel in Nuwara Eliya and enjoy your breakfast looking out over the beautiful landscapes, before being met by your driver who will take you to Horton Plains. Upon arrival at Horton Plains you will go on a private jeep safari tour of the national park and see some of the most beautiful landscapes Sri Lanka has to offer. Enjoy a late lunch at the national park before returning to Nuwara Eliya for the evening to have dinner in town and then onwards to your hotel for the night.

Day 9: Nuwara Eliya – Galle│ Travelling to The South West Coast

After breakfast your will be met by your driver who will take you to the South West Coast of Sri Lankan to Galle. You will pass through countless villages, beautiful landscapes and cities which, untouched by tourism, are a true reflection of authentic and charming Sri Lanka. Stop in Mirissa for lunch before heading north to Galle where you will check in to your hotel and then have the rest of the day at leisure to explore this coastal city or simply rest up before dinner in the city centre.

Day 10: Galle│ Sightseeing in Galle

After breakfast you will begin go straight to the Galle Fort which is in the Bay of Galle. The Galle Fort was built by the Portuguese and then worked on some more by the Dutch in the 17th century. Galle is a beautiful city that brings together European Architecture and South Asian charm, right on the seafront. Spend the afternoon visiting the beautiful churches or simply relaxing on the seafront, at one of the many spas, at a charming coffee shop or exploring the city further. After dinner in town, return to hotel for the night.

Day 11: Galle – Colombo│ Transport to Airport for Departure

Depending on the time of your departure flight from the international airport in Colombo, you may be able to spend some time relaxing at your hotel in Galle after breakfast, spend some time in Galle or even visit Colombo for some last minute sightseeing and souvenir shopping. Your driver will transfer you to the airport where we will bid you farewell whilst you recount your favorite holiday stories, and we look forward to travelling with you on your next Asia adventure.
