Day 1 - Yogyakarta and visit of Prambanan
Welcome at the airport by your guide and driver. After lunch you head to Prambanan, the 12 centuries old Hindu complex. Admire the fine sculptures of the temples dedicated to Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu. The complex is a paradise for photographer who will find in the architecture a delightful playground. On sunset the colors of the sky, the reflexions of the sun and the shadows playing with the temple gives a marvellous show of beauty. Transfer to and overnight at the hotel.
Day 2 - Yogyakarta - Excursion to Suroloyo, Borobudur, Kraton palace and Kota Gede - [2H – 90Km]
Wake up early morning to witness the sunrise on the hill of Suroloyo. The sky is brightening up, the mist hasn’t turn up yet, the stars are disappearing as the sun is rising up. Before your eyes stand the impressive volcanos Merapi and Merbabu and Borobudur is hiding in the juggle. A perfect spot to photograph stunning landscapes on natural lights. Then you walk down the hill meeting some local villagers who pick up leaves and plants. You reach Borobudur temple, biggest Buddhist complex in the world as well as a unique venue, thanks to the dozens of Buddha statues sitting on five terraces and the hundreds of meters of bas reliefs. After lunch, return to the City of Yogyakarta and visit of the Kraton Palace built in 1756: an example of Javanese architecture in the center of “Jogja”. Afterwards, discovery of the old town called “Kota Gede” that has been the powerful core of the Mataram Kingdom for a long time. Kota Gede is nowadays the place for silver artefacts. In the evening you attend a show of Ramayana dance where actors and dancers are depicting the stories of Hindu Gods in colourful dresses. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3 - Yogyakarta - Departure
On the morning you head to a local market in the heart of Yogyakarta. The colors, the smells, and the people will take you in some other dimensions. Spices, fruits, dresses or artefacts, all the mix of stalls will certainly catch you attention. Transfer to the airport after lunch to catch your flight. End of our services.
