  • Initially a dancer and a gymnast, Maud was first introduced to yoga in New York in 1998 and received training in the traditions of Hatha and Ashtanga. It was her studies with Maryam Askari, senior Iyengar Teacher in Paris, that inspired Maud to pursue the practice and study of Iyengar Yoga more deeply (a method focusing on alignment, avoiding injuries and helping practitioner to go deeper but in the right and safe way).

Leaving behind a successful business career in PR and Public Affairs, she moved to India to get closer to yoga in its traditional aspect. She founded The Yoga House in Mumbai, a groundbreaking concept with a yoga studio, macrobiotic café and shop, where she teaches. CNN International has ranked her studio among the 10 best yoga studios of Mumbai. Lonely Planet has reviewed the Yoga House Café as the healthiest restaurant in Mumbai.

Maud lives as she teaches and it is felt throughout her class. She believes in yoga as a path of personal harmony and transformation and. she loves to explore and share the benefits of focused attention to body, mind and breath. As a teacher she supports her students in appreciating themselves in a non-judgmental approach and encourages them to personalize their practice for their own needs. She teaches yoga strictly but with a sense of fun and creativity. For Maud yoga is not only a physical practice but can clear and heal emotional blocks and help you to realize yourself. She designs her class to take the practitioner deeper in its own practice and to allow yoga to become a lifestyle. Her classes combine attention to details and focus on alignment with a relaxing and meditative practice.

The classes are conducted in a very traditional way, following the principles of traditional yoga and are built up in order to give the student the technical basis to reinforce and deepen their practice. The classes will include postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama) and relaxation. Morning class will focus on specific part of the body and techniques while the evening class will consist of asanas and pranayama.
