Myanmar - Your tailor-made trip

6 days - from 896€

Day 1

Welcome to Myanmar!
You will be welcomed at the airport (usually in the morning) and transferred to your hotel. If your flight schedule permits, in the afternoon you will visit some of Yangon's highlights, including its beautiful colonial-era buildings and the spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda, a gold-covered bell-shaped pagoda. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2

1h30 flight
In the morning, after breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Bagan. Drop your bags off at the hotel and freshen up and get ready for an exciting day in Bagan. In the afternoon, visit the Bagan Archaeological Zone and admire the remains of the ancient Bagan kingdom before visiting some craft workshops where you can learn how Bagan's famous lacquerware crafts are produced. This beautiful day of temple sightseeing ends with a sunset cruise on the Irrawaddy River, relaxing as the sun slowly sinks behind the distant mountains, casting a golden glow on the pagodas and riverbanks. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3

Shwezigon Pagoda and ancient ruins
In the morning, visit the vibrant market of Nyaung Oo, the largest market in Bagan. Continue to the stunning golden Shwezigon Pagoda, which is believed to contain a holy tooth relic of the Buddha. Legend says that the location of this fascinating stupa was chosen by a royal white elephant. In the afternoon, visit the Bagan temples and Dhammayangyi Sulamani, one of the most impressive religious structures of Bagan. This temple is known for its fine brick work and the legends of the cruel king who constructed it. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4

1h flight + 1h drive
In the morning, you will be picked up at the hotel to catch your flight to Heho, a peaceful transit town and the gateway to Inle Lake. Sit back and relax as your driver brings you on a 1-hour drive to Inle Lake through the valley with views of the Shan mountains and rice fields.  In the afternoon, depart by boat to discover the floating villages of the lake with their floating gardens made from the roots of water hyacinth plants and reeds. Next, visit the Nga Hpe Kyaung Monastery, also known as the 'Jumping Cat Monastery', renowned for its jumping cats, which have been trained to leap through hoops. Continue your exploration of Inle Lake by visiting traditional workshops that manufacture cigars and silver jewelry. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5

Inn Thein and its ancient stupas
Today, you will discover the local markets in Inle where local tribes from the surrounding areas meet every morning to sell their local produce. In the afternoon, depart by boat along a small river to reach the village of Inn Thein (also spelt Indein), located on the western bank of the lake. Here, you will feel as if you have stepped back in time as you walk through banboo groves that open up to a field scattered with hundreds of ancient stupas that were estimated to have been built in the 17th and 18th centuries. Spend your evening delighting in the picturesque sights of local fishermen, who row in the traditional on-leg technique, indigenous to the Inn Thar minority group. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6

1h drive + 1h flight
