Welcome to Vietnam
You will be met at the International airport in Ho Chi Minh City your local guide and transferred to your hotel. Ho Chi Minh City has recently experienced a revival of art and culture making it the hub of activity in the south of Vietnam. Explore this vibrant city at your own leisure taking in the contrast of the colonial buildings and the busy streets of Saigon. In the evening consider a walk along the riverfront at your own leisure. Your driver is at your disposal this afternoon and evening, so after dinner he will return you to your beautiful hotel.
Discovering the Groundbreaking Cu Chi Tunnels
After breakfast your driver will drive you through the beautiful landscapes of South Vietnam to the Cu Chi Tunnels where you will be taken on a tour of the maze of tunnels as well see the mantraps and remains of American tanks. After the tour, your driver will take you back to the center of Ho Chi Minh City for a guided tour of the city visiting the Municipal Theatre, Notre Dam Cathedral and Ben Thanh Market. If you are tempted to shop, be sure to haggle! Enjoy a traditional Vietnamese dinner after which your driver will take you back to your hotel for the night.
Saigon’s history and War Memorials
Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast at your hotel before a guided Saigon city tour to the War Remnants museum and then onwards to the Ho Chi Minh City Square. This area is the hub of culture and activity in Saigon, and is home to the grand statue of Ho Chi Minh. Take in the sights and absorb the wonderful atmosphere here created by local street vendors and cafes. The well maintained gardens are dotted with live music bringing the square to life. You will have the afternoon at leisure here to enjoy this cultural hub. After dinner your driver will be ready to escort you to your hotel.
Traveling North via The China Beach
After breakfast your driver will take you from your hotel to the airport to fly to Da Nang. The one and a half hour flight takes you to central Vietnam where you will land at Da Nang airport. Your driver will meet you and take you via The China Beach where American soldiers docked during the war. Onwards to Hoi An, a quaint city in central Vietnam beaming with authentic culture and colonial buildings, where you will check in to your hotel for the night.
Thu Bon River Cruise
Your day will begin with a beautiful breakfast at your hotel, after which your driver will take you to Thu Bon River where you will board a traditional Vietnamese boat for a Hoi An city tour on water. The boat cruise takes you to a local fishing village where you can meet the fishermen and even fish with them if you wish. After a traditional lunch you will dock and be taken on a walking tour visiting the Hoi An Museum and the ancient Japanese Bridge. After dinner you will be driven back to your hotel.
Visiting hue’s Landmarks
Today you will leave your hotel early after breakfast and be driven back to Da Nang. This journey at sunrise is a beautiful one, passing through rice fields and local villages, so be sure to keep your eyes open! In Da Nang you will visit the Cham Museum and have the option to visit Dong Ba market. You will go onwards to Hue via the beautiful Hai Van Pass taking you all the way to Hue. Once in Hue you will visit famous landmarks with your guide, such as the Imperial Citadel and Thien Mu Pagoda. In the evening you will check into your hotel for the night.
Discovering Vietnam’s history at Royal Tombs
We begin early today again to enjoy a delicious breakfast at your hotel. After breakfast your will be taken to visit the Tombs of Nguyen Emperors which offer an insight into Vietnam’s history of royalty. After lunch your driver will take you to the international airport in Hue to board a flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival in Hanoi you will be met by your guide and taken to KOTO restaurant for a high end, traditional Vietnamese meal and to learn about the foundation. After dinner you will be escorted to your hotel for the night.
Authentic City Tour and Traditional Water Puppet Show!
A later start today allows for some rest and recuperation. After breakfast you will be taken on a city tour of Hanoi visiting the Mausoleum, Uncle Ho’s Cottage, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Temple of Literature and finally the iconic Hanoi Hilton. After lunch at the Hilton you will go on a cyclo tour to the Hanoi Old Quarter to discover this charming part of Hanoi. In the evening your driver will take you to Hoan Kiem Lake where you will watch a traditional Water Puppet Show. After dinner your driver will escort you back to your hotel.
Exploring the Precious Limestone Islands
After an early breakfast, your driver will take to you the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ha Long Bay. The drive here is a beautiful one taking you from a bustling city through local villages and farm land, until you reach the beautiful and mesmerizing Ha Long Bay. Once you have arrived you will board a traditional junk boat and cruise around the islands and caves. Lunch and dinner will be served on board. After dinner you will be able to go squid fishing if you wish, or if you prefer you can call it a night and rest up in your luxurious boat cabin.
Goodbye Vietnam, hello Cambodia
Another early starts gives you the opportunity to practice Tai Chi on the deck of the boat at sunrise before enjoying a traditional Vietnamese breakfast on board. After breakfast you will return to harbor to begin your drive back to Hanoi. Your driver will take you straight to the airport to catch an evening flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival in Siem Reap, your driver will meet and greet you and escort you to your hotel in northern Cambodia. It may be dark, but you will be able to sense the magical atmosphere that is unmissable in Siem Reap.
The Temples of Angkor
Be sure to eat a hearty breakfast this morning in preparation for your Angkor War tour as you will spend most of the day walking amongst the most spellbinding temples of Cambodia. Begin your tour in Angkor Wat, the largest religious monument in the world. The fascinating temples can soon blur into one, so after lunch your guide will take you to the famed Angkor Thom, the last and most enduring capital city of the Khmer Empire, followed by Bayon Temple. After an outdoors dinner you will return to your hotel for the night.
hindu Temples and Traditional Dances
After a leisurely breakfast your guide will take you to Banteay Srei in the morning, a 10th century Cambodian temple which unlike yesterday’s temples, is dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva. Banteay Srei is considered by many to the jewels in the crown of Angkorian arts due to it’s pinkish tones. You will have the afternoon at leisure to continue exploring the temples or to take rest. In the evening your driver will take you to see an Asapara Dance Performance followed by dinner. After dinner you will be escorted back to your hotel.
Last Minute Explorations
As the sun rises over Angkor Wat your holiday to Vietnam and Cambodia slowly comes to an end. Your diver will be ready to transfer you to the international airport of Siem Reap, however if you have an afternoon or evening flight, this morning is your last opportunity to explore this mystical region of Cambodia. Amongst the temples are kind street vendors, a perfect opportunity for last minute gifts! We wish you well on your return home and we look forward to traveling again with you soon.
