D 1: Arrival in Cochin
Airport pick-up and transfer to Fort Kochi. Night in a charming hotel.
D 2: Cochin
Cochin is an unusual mix of architecture from medieval Portugal, Netherlands and England. Cochin is also a good place to see a Kathakali dances show. Overnight at your hotel.
D 3: Kochi – Backwaters
Drive through the numerous canals and discover the country style life of Kerala. Drive pass all the rice paddies and coconut trees. Overnight at your hotel.
D 4: Backwaters - Houseboat
You made a short drive to the pier of the houseboat. The boat team welcomes and installs you. You sail on the most famous canals of India and admire their amazing and unique ecosystem: plants, birds and fish are numerous here. You are surrounded by water, paddy fields and coconut trees and discover tiny villages scattered on narrow strips of land. Meals and overnight on board (double cabin with bathroom). Overnight at your hotel.
D 5: Houseboat – Spice Plantations
Drive through the region known for its spice plantations. Drive pass all the rice paddies and coconut trees. Check in at hotel at the heart of the Kerala countryside. Overnight at your hotel.
D 6: Spice Plantations- Periyar
A 2/3 hours drive to reach Kumily, near the famous Periyar National Park. Explore the countryside of Kerala and visit spices garden and coffee plantations. Overnight at your hotel.
D 7: Periyar
A day dedicated to explore Periyar National Park or to enjoy an elephant ride. Periyar is a good place to see a traditional martial arts performance. Overnight at your hotel.
D 8: Periyar - Elephant Valley (Kodaikanal)
Continue the tour to neighbour State of Tamil Nadu; you go until « Elephant Valley », a spectacular and unique place in South India. Stay at an eco-lodge surrounded by the jungle, coffee plantations, waterfalls, traditional villages and wild animals. Overnight at the eco-lodge.
D 9: Elephant Valley
You discover the beautiful landscapes of the western ghats; eco-lodge offers activities such as hiking, explore the surrounding plantations and the small coffee factory of the property. Overnight at the eco-lodge.
D 10: Elephant Valley - Munnar
In the morning you leave Tamil Nadu to return to Kerala through a landscape of hills and mountains. You reach Munnar and its amazing tea plantations. Overnight at your hotel.
D 11: Munnar
You spend the day exploring Munnar and its surroundings and enjoy beautiful view points. You go up to the top station, where you will discover the Annamudi, the highest peak in India after the first Himalayan peaks and a beautiful view over the plains of the neighbour Tamil Nadu. You can also spend your day exploring the Ervikulam Park, about twenty km from Munnar. This natural park is home of a very diverse and unique fauna and flora. You may be lucky enough to spot Nilgiri Thar, a small endangered mountain goat. You can choose between a walking tour or visiting with a jeep; you are always accompanied by a guide. Back to Munnar and overnight at hotel.
D 12: Munnar – Cherai Beach
Drive to one of the beautiful beaches of the Malabar coast. Relax at the beach. Night in hotel.
D 13: Cherai Beach
Full day to enjoy and relax at the beach. Night
