Cambodia - Your tailor-made trip

13 days - from 1440€

Day 1

Welcome to Cambodia! Your guide welcomes you at the airport and takes you to your hotel. Depending on your flight schedule, you will have the afternoon free. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 2

To avoid crowds, you set out early in the morning to begin your exploration of the Angkor temples, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. You visit the legendary Angkor Wat temple and admire its famous reliefs and five Angkorian towers. After lunch, you take your kids for an Indiana Jones-like exploration of the monastery of Ta Prohm buried deep in the heart of the jungle. This marks the end of the day. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3

There's nothing like a treasure hunt to make your visit to Angkor Thom great fun. The prompt is handed to you by your guide in the form of a map and a list of 10 places to photograph. This would take you through a series of beautiful forgotten sites. At the South Gate of Angkor Thom you will take a ride on the popular but mysterious Bayon elephant, then continue on foot to the temple of Preah Pithu. This is your turn to play! The evening is free. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 4

Early in the morning you leave the Khmer country to visit the three pre-Angkorian temples of Roluos: Bakon, Preah Ko and Lolei. After lunch you head to the banks of the Tonle Sap. There you board a local boat to explore the village of Kompong Pluk on stilts and the flooded forest all around. In the early evening, you visit the circus to witness the spectacular PPS (Phare Ponleu Selpak) troupe: a show of juggling, clowns, acrobatics, and much more to delight children and adults of all ages. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5

A jewel set in pink sandstone, Banteay Srei is a unique testimony to the finesse of Khmer art. This temple owes its nickname "Citadel of Women" to the delicacy of its design and architecture. You may then visit the temple of Banteay Samre. You'll meet up with a village weaver to be introduced to the art of weaving silk gold, unique to Cambodia. The afternoon is free. The driver and the guide will be available for individual excursions. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 6

After breakfast, your guide takes you into the middle of the jungle to discover a high place of pilgrimage for Cambodians, the Phnom Kulen, literally meaning 'Sacred Mountain'. Its pristine natural surroundings, the river and waterfalls allow you a refreshing break. Enjoy a picnic on the river bank to share a true slice of Khmer life. End of the afternoon free and overnight at the hotel.
Day 7

45 min flight
Free morning and transfer by early afternoon to Siem Reap airport. On arrival in Sihanoukville, your guide welcomes you and drives you to your hotel. Rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the beach. Overnight at the hotel.

In the morning, set out on a traditional boat to explore Ream National Park. You will navigate to the middle of the river to see mangroves, as also monkeys, hawks, and some porpoises. Thereafter a short hike through the tropical jungle will take you to a truly heavenly setting: white sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Gulf of Siam. Back to Sihanoukville in the mid-afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10

After breakfast, you take a ride aboard a local boat and then walk along the wild coasts of the Virgin islands off the coast of Cambodia in the Gulf of Siam. The guide will take this opportunity to throw you into the water, where you'll explore the underwater life wearing mask, snorkels and flippers. You visit the island paradise of Koh Rong for lunch. Back to Sihanoukville in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 11

2 hour drive - 95 km
Today, you take the road to Kep. You launch yourself into the dense jungles of Bokor National Park and crisscross to reach the summit of Mount Bokor. There you will discover the colonial vestiges of Bokor Palace and the Catholic church. You then make a stop at the waterfalls of Popokvil and descend the mountain of Bokor to reach the charming town of Kampot. You then take the road to Kep, the favorite resort of the French at the time of the protectorate. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 12

You reach the deserted island of Koh Thonsáy, or the island of rabbits, and explore this little slice of paradise playing Robinson Crusoe. Take a nap in a hammock, swim in the turquoise waters, meet fishermen: indulge in a leisurely program for an utterly relaxing day. Back to Kep in the afternoon. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 13

2.5 hour drive - 150 km
And it's already time to leave! Depending on your flight schedule, there is a possibility to visit Kompong Trach caves, temples like Wat-Kirisan, and the Cave of a Thousand rice fields. Transfer to Phnom Penh airport for your international flight. End of services.
Matthieu
Matthieu Travel Expert What I like about Cambodia is that the both young and old will find something to call this trip as a fun filled holidays. Play Indiana Jones or Lara Croft in the middle of the jungle and lost temples. Share story with locales who welcome you with a big smile; Leave for the Gulf of Siam Virgin Islands as Robinson Crusoe.
