Cruise Escape in French Polynesia

On arrival at Faaa airport, you are welcomed with a flower garland. Collect the keys to your hire car and head south to Punaauia. Your hotel is located on the lagoon, facing the island of Moorea. At sunset, enjoy a fresh coconut while admiring the majestic island of Moorea, feet in the sand on the establishment's motu. Dinner at a venue of your choice and return to your hotel.

Begin your day with a visit to the Museum of Tahiti and its Islands in Punaauia to learn more about Polynesian history, then head to Papeete Market to discover local crafts and specialities. Continue to Point Venus, following in the footsteps of 18th-century navigators. Then swim at a volcanic sand beach with a breathtaking view of Diadem Mountain. Dinner at a typical food truck near the new port promenade. Night at your hotel.

Set off for the magnificent and little-known 'Tahiti Iti'. On the way, visit the impressive Blowhole, which offers visitors a sound surprise. Continue to the end of the southern road, at Teahupoo, site of the 2024 Olympic surfing events, where you'll have lunch before taking a short walk along the river. Continue to Tautira, its church and its postcard-perfect beach in a magnificent setting, then return to your hotel.

For this last day in Tahiti, you can take an easy hike in the Fautaua Valley to see the waterfalls and Loti's Bath, or alternatively we can suggest a 4x4 excursion into the spectacular Papenoo Valley. Night at your hotel.

Ferry boarding for Moorea. Arrival at Vaiare, at the foot of volcanic peaks, and drive to your lagoon-side accommodation. Depending on your arrival time, discover the marvellous Cook's and Opunohu Bays, filming locations for numerous Hollywood films. Night at your hotel.

Today, enjoy an unforgettable experience visiting the bays with the dolphins. Excursion outside the coral reef, where you can see wild marine life, including blacktip reef sharks or lemon sharks. Return to the lagoon to swim with rays and sharks in shallow water. Enjoy the end of this tour with lunch on the islet, where you can relax and go snorkelling. Night at your hotel.

Today, set off by 4x4 to the viewpoint of the magic mountain overlooking the magnificent lagoon of Papetoai, then visit the Tropical Garden in Opunohu Bay. Then climb up to the Belvedere for a magnificent panorama over Cook's and Opunohu Bays. Finally, a walk through the pineapple plantations at the heart of the island's ancient caldera, before a final stop at a distillery. Night at your hotel.

Discover the wild nature of Temae, where the coral beach takes on the feel of the Tuamotus. Lunch at the beachfront Tipaniers restaurant, an ideal starting point for a kayak tour and a snorkelling stop, before ending the day with a sunset with locals on the public beach of Tahiamanu. In season, possibility of spotting whales passing near the lagoon. On the mountain side, possibility of a day hike up to the Three Coconut Trees Pass for a breathtaking panoramic view. Fly to Raiatea, the sacred island! Collect your hire car and stop at the viewpoint depending on your arrival time. Enjoy a cocktail, feet in the lagoon, at sunset! Night at your hotel.

The only navigable river in Polynesia, the magnificent Faaroa River was where Polynesian peoples resupplied during gatherings towards the Taputapuatea Marae, 'the Cradle of Maohi Civilisation'. Visit this UNESCO-listed site. Night at your hotel.

Finish your exploration with an easy hike of your choice: the 3 waterfalls, for a refreshing immersion in nature, or the Macaranga ridge, offering a superb panorama from the viewpoint.

Set off on a gentle ascent of Mount Tapioi and enjoy an exceptional panorama over Raiatea and Tahaa. The accessible trail offers a breathtaking view over the lagoon and surrounding mountains. A lovely way to conclude your exploration of nature. Night at your hotel.

Today, you return your car, then transfer to Apooiti Marina. Meet the crew and get a briefing on the programme before boarding for a 5-day cruise to Bora Bora. Enjoy paddleboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and cultural visits, not forgetting the sublime sunsets. Sail to Tahaa with a first stop at Mahaea motu for water activities. In the afternoon, head to Tautau motu to explore its coral garden. Magical end to the day facing Bora Bora. Dinner on board.

After several hours of sailing, troll for fish during the crossing. Then head to Bora Bora. Anchor at Toopua motu for water activities: snorkelling, kayaking. Sail to Pofai Bay, and finally visit Vaitape village (shopping, banks, internet, etc). Dinner on board.

Today is a free day, all to yourself, in Bora. If you wish, you can go back into the crystal-clear waters of the lagoon, which contains one of the island's most beautiful coral gardens, surrounded by hundreds of tropical fish. Night at your hotel.

You take the mountain road built by the Americans during the Second World War to reach the island's most beautiful panoramic sites. A unique excursion in Bora to show you the Mount Popoti viewpoint and the Faanui valley. Night at your hotel.

For this last day, relax with a Polynesian massage or head back out to explore the lagoon by paddleboard or kayak, or perhaps you'd prefer to visit a local craft workshop before enjoying a cocktail at sunset. Night at your hotel.

Depending on your flight time, use this last day of your Polynesia trip to wander around, buy your last souvenirs or savour local specialities one final time.
