Boarding the early train out of New Delhi, anticipation builds with every kilometer as you draw closer to Bundi, a small yet extraordinary Rajput town in the east of Rajasthan. Bundi’s festive spirit is beautifully showcased during the Bundi Utsav, which in 2025 will brighten the town from November 18th to 20th. This vibrant event features folk dances like Kalbeliya and Ghoomar, music concerts, craft exhibitions, food markets, firework displays, and cultural competitions, bringing visitors and locals together to revel in Rajasthan’s traditions. Earlier in the year, starting August 12th, the Kajari Teej Mela paints the town in color with processions, handicraft bazaars, and performances over approximately two weeks.

Getting to Bundi

Reaching Bundi is straightforward, thanks to regular road links from cities such as Jaipur, Ajmer, and Kota (the nearest major railway stop, just 35 km away). The town itself is about 200 km from Jaipur, and visitors can rely on buses, taxis, and auto-rickshaws for local transport. During festival times, advance booking for accommodation is highly recommended, as Bundi buzzes with cultural activity.
