Your private driver will pick you up from your hotel in the morning for a very special experience. Today you and your family will learn more about the daily life and culture of the Balinese people.
You will start the day by observing the making of sarongs. In Bali, they reflect historical and religious traditions and play an important role in everyday life. You will then take the trails to enjoy the beautiful landscapes of rice fields and plantations. This walk invites you into the daily life of the farmers to understand their daily life and the organization of the Subak system. It is a real social and ecological organization that allows you to understand the management of agricultural resources in the Balinese countryside. You will then learn how to prepare flour manually and discover 3 Balinese recipes made over wood fires. You will also be initiated into offerings and ceremonial cakes and observe the residents' talent for weaving palm leaves. Time for the Lontar workshop: Dried palm leaves and rectangular pages cut into strips engraved with Balinese texts, manuscripts in Sanskrit on mantras, rituals, astrology, etc. You will also learn the Balinese alphabet called Aksara Bali and try to write on the sheets. A nice souvenir to take home. Lastly, you will prepare Jamu, a traditional herbal-based drink known for its health benefits, and your own tiger balm. Enjoy a delicious lunch on site to end this beautiful local experience.
Afterwards, you will head to the Bird and Reptile Park. There you can discover more than 250 bird species and observe the famous Komodo dragons. A unique experience!
