Do you need a visa to travel to China?

Until 31 December 2026, French nationals are exempt from visa requirements when exploring China for stays of less than 30 days. The perfect opportunity to travel with peace of mind! For longer stays, a standard visa from an authorised centre is still required. Simply ensure you have a passport valid for six months after your return, with two consecutive blank pages.


When is the best time to visit China?

The best time to visit depends on the region you wish to explore. Spring (April–May) and autumn (September–October) are ideal for most regions thanks to a mild and pleasant climate. For a trip to Northern China, opt for April to June or September to October. Yunnan and Guangxi can be visited all year round.
